PHDays Competitions Finished

After the major CTF battle was over, other PHDays 2012 competitions were also coming to the end. In the Workshop area, the Hack the RFID competition was in full swing. The target was two stationary boxes under locks controlled by RFID readers. The corresponding RFID tags were attached at a distance from the readers, so that it was impossible to unlock the boxes directly with these tags.

The contestants were required to open the boxes to take the prizes from within.

The competition was won by Victor Alyushin, who managed to clone the RFID tag from the maximum distance and Nikolay Chernykh became second.

Then the Hack2own competition was due. Lots of forum guests gathered in the CTF area to watch how the contestants hack browsers, mobile devices and operating systems. And their expectations were definitely met: the competition was a great hit.

Nikita Tarakanov became the winner in the "browser vulnerability" category:

In the "mobile devices vulnerability" category the winner is Pavel Shuvalov.

Also. the member of the LeetMore  team demonstrated a 0-day vulnerability which was was found during the CTF battle (local vulnerability - security restrictions bypassing freebsd 8.3 release).

And after that… after that the participants switched to the Too Drunk to Hack NG competition. And this is how it looked like:

And Vladimir Vorontsov (d0znpp) became the winner. Congratulations!

Once Too Drunk to Hack NG was over, the winners of all PHDays 2012 competitions were awarded their prizes and souvenirs. And well-deserved those prizes were! :)

After the award ceremony, forum guests enjoyed the Undervud group concert.
